Not for the first time, Paul Fairclough was working his magic one again during the 1991-2 season; Boro’ making it two title wins on the trot. In fact, we made an absolute mockery of our previous time at this level. Last time we were in Division One, we lasted two seasons and went down. This time, it was one season and up. We had a rocked up our arses and we weren’t going to make the same mistakes as in the past.
Boro’ won three quarters of their league matches during the 1991-2 campaign; scoring 95 goals and racking up their joint-second longest winning run. Well, that was at the time of writing and stood at 10 games. Needless to say, Martin Gittings was at the forefront of it all; grabbing 44 goals for himself.
