Shaun Debnam signed in September 1990 for a fee from Hertford Town to strengthen the midfield, having represented the county as a youth player. As a player, Debnam was fond of getting forward and scoring some vital goals for us. In fact, he played a huge role for us as we won titles in 1991, 1992 and 1994. For whatever reason, however, it seems that the step up to the Conference was one too many for the midfielder; Debnam leaving ahead of the start of the 1994-5 league programme.
It also seems, however, that Debnam saw action at Boro’ before 1990; one sub outing in the 1988-9 season in our records.
