Who Are... Crawley Town FC?
For the third successive season, Crawley Town found themselves deducted points for their off-the-pitch troubles at the Broadfield Stadium in 2008/9. Issues relating to ownership and finances continued to plague the Sussex club, and the 2007/8 campaign was yet another one started with a negative points tally. If they had not been deducted ten points for entering administration ahead of the 2006/7 season, Crawley's form would have seen them finish in 10th position as opposed to 17th, and just two points from the drop. However, things have improved.

Those financial problems appear to have disappeared over the horizon now, and the club were able to concentrate on their on-field progress during the 2009/10 season. Their record against Boro' is an OK one at Conference level, and the Red Devils are not a team to be taken lightly by any stretch of the imagination. A points deduction for fielding someone they shouldn't have dented what was, to a point, a decent playoff push before tailing off towards the end of the 2008/9 season.

With former Boston boss Steve Evans in charge, they have a manager who is experienced in Conference football having led the Pilgrims to the Football League a few seasons ago. A top-half finish for a team as capable as Crawley is a fair prediction in an ever more tough division, and they are a team more than capable of uprooting some of the larger teams in the Blue Square Premier. If they can get off to a good start in their league campaign, an outside bet for the playoffs is not beyond the realms of possibility.
