The tough-tackling midfielder ended his four-year association with the Essex team by moving to us; playing 150 times for the Shrimpers. Anthony Grant: Before Boro’
The player first arrived at Southend on loan from Chelsea. The Premier League giants also allowed him to join Oldham Athletic, Luton Town and Wycombe Wanderers on a short-term basis between 2004 and 2008, but Southend was the club to offer him a permanent home away from Chelsea. Grant’s career at Stamford Bridge was restricted to just one game, but who turns their nose up at a substitute appearance against Manchester United?
Since then, he has accumulated extensive Football League experience and arrived with his career prospects still looking up. He also has England international caps at U16, U17 and U19 level.
