Ryan Loft

Date of Birth: 14-09-1997

Place of Birth: Gravesend

Ryan Loft came to Stevenage on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2017. A towering striker as described by his parent club, Loft was brought in until the end of the 2016-7 League Two campaign. Boro’ had endured a tough festive period and were looking to launch themselves back up the table as spring came around.

Ryan Loft: Before Boro’

Loft was top scorer for Spurs’ Under 18s side in 2015-16; netting 13 times in a mere 22 league appearances, as well as once in two FA Youth Cup ties. The striker had also made the step up to Under 21 level too by the time a move to Stevenage arose; very much seen as one for the future at White Hart Lane.

His career path prior to the Premier League giants had taken in local sides, with spells at both Dartford and Ebbsfleet United to his name. He also spent a period of time on ‘work experience’ at Conference side Braintree Town towards the end of the 2015-6 season. Twice, in his time at the Essex side, he made the bench.

Ryan Loft: After Boro’

Spurs let Loft leave at the end of the 2017-8 campaign, with fellow Premier League club Leicester City picking up the striker on a free. We’re not too sure why, to be honest. And we base that on his (non-)showings while on loan here. With no first team outings to his name during his first season, he came back to League Two for the start of the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Carlisle United.
