Matt Langston started his career at Watford, but the defender failed to break through to the first team before joining Stevenage Borough in 2003. He’d gained experience while on loan at Aldershot Town and Barnet before coming to us, however. But that still didn’t seem to cut much ice. Again struggling to hold down first team football, Langston left us with just three outings to his name.

After us came Cambridge City, where he spent three seasons before moving on to nearby neighbours Histon. With the Stutes, he played a major part in their Conference South and National success of the mid-2000s. Scoring the winning goal against Leeds United in a FA Cup was a particular highlight while on the books at Histon. A loan spell at Crawley Town was how he finished the 2009-10 campaign, meanwhile, with Eastbourne Borough next up for the defender.
