Mark Stimson secured the services of Craig Dobson during the 2006 close season, sure that he’d found himself (and Boro’) a skilful winger. Though he’d stepped down the ladder with moves to Lewes and Cambridge City, he also featured at Barnet for a time. Able to dazzle and frustrate in equal measures, Dobson did score some crucial goals during the 2007-8 campaign from his role on the right side of midfield. Near the end of the January 2008 transfer window, however, Boro’ accepted a bid from League Two high-flyers MK Dons – taking the player away from Broadhall Way and up into the League.
