Malcolm Ward was a midfielder who arrived with solid local football experience to boost the newly-senior Boro’ in summer 1979. We don’t have any information for that initial season; the Wallspan Southern Combination giving us somewhere to play after the United Counties League rejected our first application. But the UCL would let us in the following season when Broadhall Way came back into use – and Ward would be part of that title-winning success. The bulk of his appearances would be made during the 1981-2 campaign – as were his contributions in front of goal.
At the moment, we don’t have any data for the 1979-80 season.
