Biography

John Nutter came to us as a highly regarded left-back; signed from Grays Athletic shortly after Mark Stimson‘s appointment as Boro’ manager. His talent hadn’t gone unnoticed by Boro’ legend Paul Fairclough either; the England C manager calling up Nutter after what had been an impressive 2005-6 campaign.

Nutter was our first signing of summer 2006 summer. With Justin Gregory released prior to his arrival, it meant the player was first-choice left-back from the off. And he wasn’t to be displaced either. One of the best left-backs to perhaps turn out for us, Nutter was top of Stimmo’s list came back to raid his former club after leaving for Gillingham. His departure left us without one of our most consistent performers, as well as a faultless penalty taker.
