After playing for Leyton Orient, left-sided midfielder Daryl McMahon joined the ranks at Stevenage Borough in the January 2007 transfer window; gaffer Mark Stimson making the signing. He racked up nearly 50 starts during his time at Brisbane Road; a place where he spent just over two years.
McMahon brought an assured touch to the Boro’ midfield; highly effecitve with the players he worked with. He made yet more progress during the 2007-8 campaign, not least in the first half of the season with Mark Stimson still in charge.
Under Peter Taylor, however, he fell out of favour. Even from the subs bench, McMahon continued to show plenty of enthusiasm and determination as Boro’s playoff bid faltered. With his contract up in June 2008, new boss Graham Westley convinced the midfielder to stay for another year.

But talk of behind-the-scenes unrest saw Westley dispose of McMahon’s services; the midfielder hot-footing it north to Cambridge United. After moves around the non-league circuit, he moved into management with Ebbsfleet United. After leaving the Fleet in late 2018, there was a brief hiatus before returning to the dugout with Macclesfield Town in League Two in August 2019.
