From the classroom to the stadium, local schoolteacher Dave Smith enjoyed two seasons at Boro’ – before moving to Royston Town in December 1989. We weren’t the midfielder’s first rodeo either. His football career before Broadhall Way saw him play for Hounslow and Coventry Sporting. He even took to the middle for Warwickshire County Cricket Club.
