Biography

The role of Rob Quinn in our squad was perhaps greatly understated during the 2004-5 season, particularly towards the end of the campaign; a playoff place very much on the table at that time. Often showing a great deal of versatility, the former Bristol Rovers man could slot both into the centre of the defence and his favoured central midfield role.

The midfielder also took on the holding role when Boro’ were looking to defend a tight lead – or simply release other midfielders to attack forward. Memorable goals against Hendon and Scarborough in the 2004/5 season became a distant memory, however; Quinn falling out of favour towards the end of a 2005-6 season in which our playoff push fell short. So, he ultimately found himself being released in summer 2006.

Rob Quinn: After Boro’

Adam Miller and Luke Oliver (in particular) had come in and meant Quinn had fewer roles in which to play. The departure of Quinn didn’t shock many, however unfortunate it has to sometimes be. From us, he went to Gravesend and Northfleet first – before enjoying time at AFC Wimbledon and Cray Wanderers to name two. Quinn’s talents have also been put to use inspiring the next generation; the midfielder on the books at Crystal Palace as one of their youth coaches.
