Aramide Oteh

Biography

As the domestic transfer window shut in October 2020, Boro’ got in just ahead of the curve to add QPR‘s Aramide Oteh to the squad. The forward arrived on a season-long loan deal; the latest to join the new-look squad that gaffer Alex Revell had been putting together over the summer. And, at the same time, Oteh was yet another lad to come in and play up front – leaving Revs with plenty of options in that department.

“The club have been interested in me for a while,” said Oteh on his arrival. “And the gaffer played a big part in my decision”. It also sounds like talking to a fellow Rs forward (and ex-Boro’ loanee) Ilias Chair also helped convince him to come to the Lamex. For the boss, it was a signing he was happy to make too; “He was desperate to come and prove himself, which is really important,” explained Revs. “So I am looking forward to working with him.”

Aramide Oteh: Before Boro’

Oteh didn’t come to us without his experience. In his time at Loftus Road, the forward saw action out on loan. First came his spell at Walsall; moving to the Midlands in January 2019 for the rest of the 2018-9 campaign. With the Saddlers, he scored once in 13 outings. The following season, Bradford City came calling. He scored three in 22 for the Bantams – but headed back to QPR in January 2020 after being recalled.

It’s not as if Oteh wasn’t getting his chances at his parent club either. After returning from Bradford, the forward played nine times for the Rs between February and July 2020; that obviously being a result of the 2019-20 season being stretched out due to Covid-19.
