Miguel Comminges Player Profile
Debut: Walsall (H, 3-1), 18/09/2012
Miguel Comminges was one of manager Gary Smith’s acquisitions during summer 2012, having previously played under the Boro’ boss at Colorado Rapids in the US. Born in Guadeloupe, the defender left the French-administered nation at the age of 15-years-old and moved to France to embark on his footballing career.
Amiens SC was his first port of call, before spending four years at Reims. English football beckoned in 2007, with Comminges joining Swindon Town and later Cardiff City. The Welsh club gave him a home for three years, with other clubs including Carlisle United and Southend United.
It was after his time at Southend United that Comminges returned back across the Atlantic and joined Colorado Rapids. It was a short stay, however, and he did not return to the club for the 2012 season, allowing him the opportunity to reunite with Gary Smith.
