One of the first new men in the door after Wayne Turner became boss, winger Scott Houghton came in with lots of experience. After spending a lot of time in the Football League, the new Boro’ manager was looking to the player to spearhead our new era. Unfortunately for all concerned, the Turner era didn’t sparkle too much after a sort-of promising start at the back end of the 2001-2 campaign. With the 2002-3 season not starting too brightly, Houghton left around a month into it.
