Dominic Naylor signed for Boro’ in summer 1998, following a two-year spell at Leyton Orient and having been on the books at Barnet and Watford. The defender started out as a trainee with the Hornets, but didn’t break through into their first team. In search of first team football, therefore, he moved to Underhill in 1991; staying for two years and clocking up more than a half century of appearances while there.
Dominic Naylor: Before Boro’
After his time with the Bees, Naylor travelled further afield and signed for Plymouth Argyle. At Home Park, the defender was a first team regular during his two years there. But time was up in 1995; returning to the South East and switching to Gillingham. He only spent a year at Priestfield, however, with Leyton Orient his next port of call. So, you can see that he wasn’t shy of experience when he came to us.
Dominic Naylor: After Boro’
With things not going to plan at Boro’, Naylor only featured 33 times – 23 as a starter and 10 from the subs bench. He left us on loan for Dagenham & Redbridge in 1999 and made the deal permanent a year later. Time at Basingstoke and St Albans City came next; after that, however, the trail goes cold.
