Place of Birth:

Laurie Stewart is one of Boro’s youth graduates who stepped up to the first team squad during Graham Westley‘s tenure in the 2004-5 season. The defender was among a few young lads to get a chance that season, but was one of the first to see first team action. His debut came in September 2004, coming on as sub against Northwich Victoria in our comfortable 4-1 win that day.

Apart from that, however, first team opportunities were restricted to the LDV Trophy and Conference Cup. The chance to become a fully-fledged member of the senior squad did not quite happen. With his deal up and GW also moving on following the 2005-6 season, Stewart’s time at Boro’ came to an end. It’d have to be away from Broadhall Way that the defender would build his career.

Laurie Stewart: After Boro’

Bishop’s Stortford signed Stewart after his time at Boro’ came to an end. A year later, he moved across to Ware and onto Harlow Town another year on. There’s a bit of a gap in our knowledge after that; picking up the trail with the defender at Chesham United in 2015.
