A highly-rated defender with height on his side, Neil Jeffrey made his Boro’ debut during the 1980-1 season. But he soon moved onto pastures new after making just a handful of appearances. After spells at some of Boro’s Hertfordshire neighbours in the years that followed, Jeffrey returned to Broadhall Way in 1986 and was considered one of the best in the county in his position.
