Simon Clark Player Profile
Debut: Dulwich Hamlet (A, 2-0), 15/01/1994
After gaining experience in non-league, Simon Clark took his last step back to professional football with us; leaving us for Peterborough United. We say “back” due to the fact the defender (who could also play in midfield) started his career at Lincoln City. He joined Boro’ in the second half of the 1993-4 season; helping us to secure the Diadora League Premier Division title. By this point, however, he was already on Posh’s radar.
Simon Clark: Before Boro’
After leaving Sincil Bank, he stayed relatively local; turning out for Boston Town, Holbeach United and King’s Lynn. Soon enough, he moved further south to Hendon; his most recent port of call before coming to Boro’.
Simon Clark: After Boro’
It seems that Clark made the most of his return to professional football. The excellent first season he enjoyed at London Road in 1994-5 was the first of three years with the club. He remained in the Football League after leaving Posh too; joining Leyton Orient for the next three years, then Colchester United for another two. After his time at the Us, however, he returned to non-league; his career path eventually taking him back to Kings Lynn.
