Connor Ogilvie

Biography

Connor Ogilvie is the young left-back who came to Stevenage on a one-month youth loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur in mid-August 2016. A player whose versatility gives him the ability to play at centre back as well, his services gave Boro’ a useful extra edge as far as their defensive capabilities were concerned.

And he earned rave reviews in his time at the club too. So much so that boss Darren Sarll had no doubts about turning to him once again when in need of some cover at the back in early 2017. The hope was that Ogilvie would be able to reproduce the form that won fans over first time around, and he didn’t disappoint.

Connor Ogilvie: Before Boro’

In his time at Spurs, Ogvilie was a regular member of their U21 Premier League side and had also made the Lilywhites’ first team squad for the odd Europan League tie. Not only that, but he also has England U16 and U17 caps to his name; arriving at the Lamex with a promising future very much ahead of him.

After impressing in two spells at Boro’, it was back to Spurs. It was either that we decided to pursue different options or that Spurs wanted the lad to play at a higher level, but there was no third coming; Ogilvie moving to League One side Gillingham on loan at the start of the 2017-8 campaign.

Connor Ogilvie: After Boro’

Ogilvie’s time at Gillingham was a smash hit by all accounts. As such, he ended up going back to Priestfield the following season on loan. Again, everyone was happy with how the partnership had gone. So, it probably wasn’t much of a shock when Ogilvie’s third transfer to Gillingham in summer 2019 was a permanent one.
