Joe Welch signed from Blue Square Bet Premier side Histon in March 2011 on loan; a deal that was somewhat unexpected at the time. The young ‘keeper made his debut for the Cambridgeshire side in 2008 after moving from Southend United; going on to be one of the most promising performers at the Glassword Stadium. But, despite expressing an interest in remaining with us ahead of the 2011-2 season, Welch signed for Ebbsfleet United having not turned out for us during his stay.
