A highly-experienced defender with more than 400 appearances for Peterborough United, Mark Arber joined Stevenage Borough in summer 2007. Adding extra steel to our defence, Arber brought with him a wealth of know-how. And it didn’t take long for Mark Stimson to make him an important part of the team; getting the role of chief penalty taker at the same time. But things don’t always stay the course in football.
A key part of our defence during the first half of the 2007-8 campaign, things changed with the arrival of Peter Taylor. Whether something happened behind the scenes or not, Arber ended up on loan at Dagenham & Redbridge soon into 2008, before the deal was made a permanent one.
