Keith Allinson signed for us in 1988; moving from local rivals Baldock Town and taking up the gloves with Mark Klimek injured. But it seems his story goes back further than that. In 1981, it was reported the stopper had ‘come back’ to us after a period away. That’s as much as we know. And, suffice to say, there would be no first team appearances for him until much later on in the decade. After ‘returning’ in 1988, Allinson unfortunately got injured too; a big reason why his total number of appearances was kept to a minimum.
