Chem Campbell

Date of Birth: 30-12-2002

Place of Birth: Birmingham

Boro’ swooped in for Chem Campbell in June 2025 off the back of a pretty impressive loan spell at Reading during the 2024-5 season; the winger contributing seven goals in 42 appearances for the Royals. He’d be our third new arrival of that summer, joining Jordan Houghton and the returning Saxon Earley. Much like the other two, Campbell’s signing was well-received – probably because of his endeavours in Berkshire. But also perhaps because, as a winger, he had all the attributes to help Boro’ improve upon a relatively frugal season in front of goal.

Chem Campbell: Before Boro’

A native of Birmingham, Campbell’s first steps into football were with his hometown club: Birmingham City. But he soon moved onto Wolverhampton Wanderers while still yet to graduate from youth ranks. It’d be at Wolves that he’d turn pro; making his debut in 2019 and becoming their second youngest-ever player (at the time). Despite a handful of outings in the gold and black of Wolves, most of his senior action would come out on loan. Wycombe Wanderers (twice), Charlton Athletic, and Reading (twice) all benefited from his talents between 2019 and 2025.
