Jim Beech Player Profile
Debut: Pirton (H, 2-1), 11/08/1984
It’s fair to say that Jim Beech is up there as one of our greatest-ever forwards; his record in front of goal speaking for itself. Our only regret is that he didn’t stay around longer than one full season; the prolific forward moving on to Royston Town in the early stages of the 1985-6 campaign. While it didn’t ultimately derail our promotion hopes, you have to think that our league success that season would have brought more goals for him. And, with it, that’d have put him well past the half-century mark at the very least.
