Jamie Slabber is the young striker snapped up by Mark Stimson at the end of December 2006, following his departure from Grays Athletic. While he’d left his previous club by mutual consent, he wasn’t able to make his debut until January 2007 due to FA rules. Slabber started his career as a youth player at Spurs alongside Ronnie Henry. After loan spells at AB Copenhagen in Denmark and Swindon Town too, the striker left White Hart Lane for Aldershot Town. After that, he ended up at Grays.
While at Grays, he went out on loan to Oxford United but would be eventually reunited with Stimmo. He’d worked with the gaffer at Grays previously, but couldn’t quite rekindle that form at Broadhall Way. Despite making the bench for the 2007 FA Trophy Final, he left the club that summer on a free.
