Jason Brissett

Date of Birth: 07-09-1974

Place of Birth:

Jason Brissett arrived at Boro’ in early 2001; signed by boss Paul Fairclough after an unsuccessful time at Leyton Orient. The winger’s arrival was noted in the programme for our home game against Margate; revealing how Brissett had “burst onto the Conference scene in inspired form”. But that form didn’t last. He failed to make a name for himself in our side. Just two starts and one sub appearance is all he managed before leaving Boro’ on a free one month later. The Hereford programme from the time has a possible insight as to why that was.

Jason Brissett: Before Boro’

After starting his professional career at Arsenal, Brissett joined Peterborough United in 1993. It was a decent-enough time at London Road. But it was with a four-year stay with Bournemouth where it really started to take off for the winger; turning out more than 100 times at Dean Court. In 1998, however, he left the south coast for Walsall. With the Saddlers, he spent some time out on loan at Cheltenham Town. In summer 2000, Brissett moved back south for a brief spell in East London.
