Ted Kent was part of the club’s set-up already in late 1977 when we called upon him to oversee matters from the dugout. Kent came to Boro’ as general manager ahead of the 1977-8 campaign; performing that same role at Letchworth Garden City before hand. Yet, we needed someone to fill the shoes of outgoing team manager Martin Lacey from November. So, Kent would be that man. And he’d guide us through the remainder of that campaign.
