Later called Tokyngton Manor, Ruislip Manor had a few bumpy seasons before folding at the start of the 2013-4 season. For some, the end came in 2008 when off-field issues led to the loss of their ground. A knight in shining armour took on the club’s debts, which resulted in the Tokyngton name change. The problems didn’t go away, however. After concerns over the safety of the ground, the Spartan South Midlands League banned them for a season; rejoining for the 2011-2 campaign.

After skipping the season after that, Manor moved back to the Middlesex County League before folding. It does seem, however, that a ‘new’ club is now in place to revive the story.

Ruislip Manor: The Facts

Who are Ruislip Manor?

It was 1938 in which the club first came to life, though we don’t have the benefit of the finer detail to share. We do know they joined the London League at the start of the 1950-1 campaign, then ending the following season in second position. In general, the club tended to finish relatively high up the competition. But then we have a gap in the records; a period in which they’re said to have joined the Spartan League until 1965.

At that point, the club switched to the Athenian League. Starting out in Division Two, it took them a total of seven seasons to gain promotion; winning the championship and rising into Division One. Their next major move was in 1984 with a move into the Isthmian League. By this point, we’d already played them in our FA Vase Round One clash in November 1983. A meeting on the league circuit was denied, however, as they’d be placed in Division Two South; us in the North equivalent.

The club didn’t manage to gain promotion from this division until 1993. By this point, we’d made our ascent up the pyramid ahead of them. But we did meet for a second time; our FA Cup Second Qualifying Round tie at their place in September 1992. Isthmian League Division One was as good as it got for them. In 1996, the club would’ve been relegated – but instead joined the Spartan League for a season, before being one of the founder members of Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division South in 1997.
