Buckingham Town Travel Information – Distance: 32 miles

Right then, here we go. A bit of a cross-country adventure is in store for you here. Head out from Stevenage to Hitchin, and on as if you were going to Barton-le-Clay. At the village of Hexton, however, take a left onto Hexton Road for just over a mile. Your next move is a right turn; this time onto Lilley.

After 2.1 miles, you’ll come to a roundabout. Take the second exit for Church Road. Turn right onto Sharpenhoe Road in 0.4 miles, and then left onto Sundon Road in another 0.3 miles. This will become Streatley Road, Manor Road and Sundon Road (again) in due course.

Now you’ll be approaching the M1, though not actually a junction for it. Take the second exit at the roundabout you come to in order to across the M1. The other side, it’ll be back onto Sundon Road and then down over the A5 below. After this will be a roundabout, at which you’ll need the second exit.

It’ll be the first exit you need at the next roundabout; this will be the A5055 and will take you onto the A5 itself. Now you’ll be taking the A5 up towards Bletchley. At Kelly’s Kitchen Roundabout (there’s a McDonalds by it), leave the A5 and take the second exit for Watling Street. In 0.2 miles opposite the garden centre, you’ll find the ground.

We’d recommend avoiding the garden centre car park unless it’s obvious that you won’t get caught out. The car park at the stadium is a reasonable size.

Come out of the station onto Simpson Road, turning right. At the end – notable for its double roundabout – turn left onto the High Street and continue onto Watling Street. Cross the River Ouzel, before turning right opposite Dobbies Garden Centre.
