Adam Miller came to us from Championship side QPR on a free transfer, having already played at Conference level with Aldershot Town. He’d also turned out at Gravesend and Northfleet, adding to his Football League experience at Loftus Road and Ipswich Town. And it was during his time with the Shots that Miller picked up the 2003-4 Conference Young Player of the Year gong; a major factor in his move up the ladder to QPR.

After settling into the centre of Boro’s midfield with ease towards the end of the 2005-6 season, Miller performed consistently well. He proved to be a real asset in his first full season at Broadhall Way too; his assured passing ability and confidence on the ball a genuine asset during the 2006-7 campaign. It was those two qualities that made Miller such an influential midfielder when at his best.

And it’s a reason why Mark Stimson took him to Gillingham too.
