Biography

Makise Evans is the young attacker who made huge strides in our youth setup; earning a call-up to the senior squad in April 2023. “He is in consideration to start,” said boss Steve Evans ahead of our journey to Mansfield Town. “It is important to see who is improving and progressing and Makise is one of those who has been jumping up and down with his performances and attitude.He goes on merit and may start. If he doesn’t, he’ll be on the bench, and he is taking the place of a senior player so I am not doing this lightly.”

Such praise wouldn’t come lightly for the gaffer. After all, Boro’ were knee-deep in a promotion battle when he brought Evans into the mix. Prior to that, the attacker’s only previous senior experience had come out on loan. Evans learnt his trade at Potters Bar Town earlier on in the 2022-3 campaign. Of course, the sight of an academy player in the first team naturally raised eyebrows (and hopes). Was Makise to be the next prodigious talent to emerge from Bragbury End. Sure, come on folks. Time would be very much on his side to determine that.
