Armand’s Last Stand?

Are we about to see the last of Armand Gnanduillet in a Boro’ shirt? BBC Radio Humberside reckon so – the talk is he’s off to Conference promotion hopefuls Grimsby Town once his loan ends here after the weekend. And, according to one Chesterfield forum, the fee involved in swapping Derbyshire for the North Sea coast is 25,000 notes.

How much of this news is a surprise? Well, we can’t say we saw it coming – but, then again, it’s not exactly out of the realms of fantasy. If Grimsby have the cash, you can’t stop them putting in an offer and Chesterfield have the right to accept. That’s how football ticks – £25k for a striker who hasn’t been in your first team? You’d bite that hand off.

But maybe Chesterfield have given Teddy a little heads up too. Think about it – we’re now looking to offload Brett Williams for some shiny gold coins and the rumour mill is linking Armand with a move to the Conference. Now, we’re shite at maths: we’ve always thought two and two equals five, but are we onto something with this one? Hmmm…

Either way, the January transfer alarm clock went off a week ago and it looks like we’re no longer pushing the snooze button…
