Ramones CartoonSo, was the win against Brentford just a blip in that otherwise ongoing run of bad form? If we look back over the two League One performances since, the first half at Preston North End was just a complete non-event and we can no longer find the goal again. It is especially annoying as Bournemouth at home was such a winnable fixture on paper, and particularly ahead of the arrival of pitch invading Sheffield United this weekend.

If we take the last win before Brentford, which as you all well know was Notts County (2-0) a few weeks ago, it preceded a run of six straight defeats. If that were to be repeated, it will take us through March, past three away games after Saturday’s match and to a home game against Hartlepool United at home. Mind you, one of those three trips is bottom club Bury – you’d think we could get something there…?

In summary, there’s not much more we can add here that hasn’t already been said over the last few weeks. Losing is rubbish, not scoring is rubbish and poor performances are… well, you surely get the gist of it by now. There are some reasons to be cheerful – Sam Hoskins is one, and you no doubt have your own that keep you sane. In other news, Luton Town have been nominated for a British Comedy Award…
