It’s not the usual type of Monday. As we’ve not had to force ourselves from our bed at what can only be described as an ungodly hour, we’re less inclined to rant. Having said that, this Easter bank holiday presents us with the much-anticipated return of ex-manager Graham Westley. Many have been waiting for it. Now it’s here…
After the “off-day” at Tranmere Rovers on Good Friday, Gary Smith’s Stevenage are going to be keen to get their arses back into the winning saddle. Preston North End aren’t exactly having the greatest run of form themselves and it may be quite a charged atmosphere. But it is imperative no-one loses focus of what’s important. And that’s three points in the bag.
Whether you still adore GW or hate him for the manner of his departure; whether you fully believe in G-Smiffy or whether you have your doubts, it is not a day for one-upmanship on the terraces. All opinions aside, the lads on the pitch need the tremendous support they’ve received all campaign to be unaffected by who may be in the opposition dug-out. GW’ll get his appreciation at an appropriate time.
We can’t imagine there will be too many changes from the Tranmere starting eleven. What changes can you make, after all? If anything is altered, a return to the good old 4-4-2, with Reid and Slew leading the line and Wilson and Freeman down the wings is how we’d like it to begin. It’s crucial that Boro’ prey on any Preston insecurities from the outset, regardless of whether we may have some too.
Lest we sound pious here, but Boro’ comes first today. No man is bigger than the club. And we maybe we can make Preston look like the Ordinary Boys they are. SNARF!
