Biography
A talented young midfielder, Michael Doughty was brought in on loan by manager Graham Westley in summer 2013 to bolster his side’s options in the centre of the park. The Welsh Under 21 international signed from parent club Queens Park Rangers as part of an initial arrangement to keep him at the Lamex Stadium until January 2014.

Doughty is the son of the late Nottingham Forest owner Nigel Doughty and began his career at Loftus Road in 2010, making his debut for the West London outfit in the FA Cup against Blackburn Rovers. First team opportunities were subsequently limited, however, so the midfielder found himself out on loan at a number of clubs – both in the League and non-league.
After loan spells at Woking, Crawley Town and Aldershot Town, Doughty’s career took him north of the border for a brief stay at St Johnstone of the Scottish Premier League in early 2013. Stevenage became his fifth loan destination as he sought to get first team experience under his belt and further enhance his chances at Queens Park Rangers.
