“A traditional centre forward” is academy manager Jorden Gibson’s verdict of Frank Norris; a new face in the first team in 2025-6. The forward got his first taste of senior matchday action as an unused sub against Charlton Athletic. That is perhaps what you might call the next step on his path in football; the player having been named as a First Year Scholar the summer before. And he was in fine company at the time. Many of his fellow cohort had also found a route through to the first team. For Norris, it was then a case of making that opportunity count.
