Place of Birth: Vilnius

Deimantas Petravicius is the young Lithuanian right-sided midfielder snapped up by Teddy Sheringham on a one-month youth loan deal in January 2016. Boro’ were struggling towards the wrong end of the League Two table and were in need of some creativity. At the time of his arrival at the Lamex, Petravicius had already played at international level for his country five times.

And that was despite a five-year spell at Nottingham Forest to that point not yielding any senior appearances to that point. Not, however, that you could say Petravicius was the answer to our problems. First team opportunities here were not in abundance. To see him in action was a rare treat, if you’re going to call it that. He didn’t really grab any chances that did come his way, and so was on his way back to Forest without making much impact.
