Biography
Clark Masters came to Stevenage Borough on loan in January 2008 – immediately after making the switch from Brentford to Southend United. After time on loan at Slough Town, AFC Wimbledon and Welling United, We were a step up in standard for Masters. Well, if you think about what he’d been used to before that. And maybe that step up showed too keenly; his debut in front of Setanta TV cameras at Burton Albion one to forget.
Masters’ performance didn’t inspire confidence; being at fault for one of the three goals we conceded that day not helping. In another questionable outing indoors against Northwich Victoria, the stopper failed to keep a relatively weak effort out. It wasn’t all bad, however, and we’d like to make that clear. Amends were made with an assured performance versus Halifax Town; a game that Boro’ went onto win.
