The love we shared with Corby Gainsborough FC was a short-lived one. So too, it feels, was their time in existence as a club. It doesn’t look as if they’ve stayed around long enough to share their side of the story either. Even the all-seeing, all-knowing bods at Google are coming up short here – so you know we’re onto something a bit nostalgic. All we know for sure is that our two games against them saw 11 goals scored; seven by us.
That’s not bad if you’re after your money’s worth, is it? One of our 1980-1 league opponents, the first of our two games ended all-square; 2-2 the final score at Broadhall Way. It’s fair to say, however, that we dominated the second; winning 5-2 at their place. It’s about as much as we can tell you about ’em. The club dropped off the radar in 1985.
