Biography

Kaelan Casey was a welcome addition as a handful of players made their exits stage left at the end of the 2026 summer transfer window. You can debate whether his arrival was on a like-for-like basis; Casey being a centre-back unlike most of the outgoings. But it was felt this defender was a solid addition to our ranks and who are we to argue. The deal was a temporary one; coming in on loan from West Ham United for the duration of the 2026-27 campaign. And it would certainly add a different dimension to a defence that’d find itself tested that season.

Kaelan Casey: Before Boro’

Casey is as West Ham as they come in footballing terms. He was just five-years-old when the Hammers took him into their fold. How do you even know if a five-year-old is going to be a superstar? That’s by the by. He had a very good pathway with them – a part of the FA Youth Cup-winning squad in 2023, for example. As far as senior action is concerned, he cut his teeth on loan with Swansea City during the 2025-26 season, as well as Leyton Orient. Add into the equation he has England U20 honours, and you can start to see that something may be building with this young man.
