Here’s your latest statpack; the latest stats, numbers, and milestones fresh off the press after the latest Stevenage game day. We used to do this on Twitter or X or whatever it’s called now. And we’d syndicate it across Bluesky too. But we thought “meh, let’s drive some more people to the site”. That’s the hope and, well, we like to think there’s usually something for everyone once the dust has settled on the latest Boro’ escapade.
Statpack: Stevenage 1-1 Plymouth Argyle – 01 January 2026

It’s a long ol’ poke since our last triumph over the Pilgrims; our 2-1 win on 5 September 2015 being the last time we got the better of them.
6️⃣
On the flip (positive) side, today’s draw ended a six-match losing streak against them. Mind you, our last meeting was January 2020 and we lost to everyone (not Cambridge) that term.

Today was the fifth time on the bounce that we’ve failed to win on New Year’s Day. The last time was 2019; Revs with the winner as we beat Newport – despite Kurtis Guthrie‘s red card. That was now seven years ago… and Luther was playing that day too!
In fact, our record on NYD in the Football League is lousy – two wins in nine efforts.

A 1-1 draw is our most common scoreline over the years, occurring 252 times. Cool story bro.
2️⃣
A second encounter with Richard Eley as referee and we’re still unbeaten on his watch. Well, the first time was a 4-0 Vertu Trophy game away at Burton in December 2024. If that counts?

Revs has now managed 85 games in his second spell as Boro’ boss. That’s the same amount as Cloughie in his second spell. Revs has more wins (33 vs 31), but more defeats (32 vs 25) – and fewer points (101 vs 98). It is also a given that Cloughie’s GF record is better (132 vs 96).
At This Stage Rankings (Out Of 46)
1️⃣6️⃣ | 37 points from a possible 66 (level with 2012-13)
3️⃣6️⃣ | 26 goals for
0️⃣4️⃣ | 18 goals against (level with 1985-86 and 1989-90)
1️⃣7️⃣ | 10 wins from 22 games (level with five others)
Statpack will return… after the next game.
