Our Friends In The North: Leeds Meet-Up

Updated:

By Pete H

Are you a Boro’ fan? Have you found yourself being exiled up north over the course of time? We’re mainly talking Yorkshire, but it can be anywhere that’s in decent reach of Leeds. Yeah, OK – given the state of the rail network here, you can argue that nowhere is in decent reach of anywhere. But you know what we’re getting at, right? And the point is that we want to tell you about a Leeds meet-up happening on 1 February to watch the Exeter City game.

What?

Two Boro’ fans found that they lived in the same part of Leeds. After watching our fixture at home to Leyton Orient on the box locally, a plan was hatched. That plan? To see if there are other supporters in the wider region who fancied meeting up to catch our next telly date.

Where?

The Box – 15 Infirmary Street, Leeds, LS1 2JS

A sports bar in the centre of Leeds; located a few minutes’ walk from the main city railway station. The venue has agreed to show the match on one of its big screens, even though it may well get popular with Leeds fans gathering for their home game later that afternoon.

When?

12pm (opening time) for a 12.30pm kick-off.

No end time planned. Feel free to stick around if a) we win, b) you have nothing better on, and c) want to chat with fellow Boro’ fans about life, the universe, and everything.

Why?

The short answer is “why not?”. If you’re not going to the game at the Lamex, would you be watching it on the telly? And would you watch it alone? The aim of this Leeds meet-up is to give you an opportunity to have some like-minded souls around you to celebrate or moan!

In addition, the gathering will feature at least a couple of games/activities in which a prize (or three) will be up for grabs. And we’re not talking a pint or a portion of onion rings. That might be enough to win you over. But we’re actually talking a signed Boro’ shirt and tip-top goodies from The Broadhall Way‘s epic range of merchandise.
