Danny Blanchett’s career prior to the 2009-10 season meant he was certainly familiar with non-league football – despite the young defender’s age. One of the non-league talents picked up by Peterborough United, Blanchett’s path up the pyramid is less meteoric than compatriots George Boyd, Craig Mackail-Smith and Aaron McLean. That meant loan spells were the way forward; helping the player continue his development. We were one of the sides to bring him in for a short spell. But he made no appearances with us. And soon the defender moved on to pastures new in search of first team football.
