After first starting out with Norwich City, Dylan Switters – previously known as Dylan O’Donnell – came into the youth fold at the Lamex in 2017. He’d been a familiar face in the Canaries’ U18 side, but Boro’ came calling and got their man on a one-and-a-half-year deal… to start with. He went straight into our youth side, featuring as we got to Round Four of the FA Youth Cup. To cap a fine first season with the club, there was even a senior debut at the end of the 2017-8 campaign.
The following season, loan spells would be the order of the day. First, Switters went over to Great Yarmouth Town for a one-month work experience loan. After that spell ended, it was to Kings Langley. In both stints, he made a fine contribution to his adopted sides and found the net too. Did that hint at the promise of a new goalscoring centre midfielder to come through the ranks? Maybe, but not for us it would seem; Switters joining Hayes & Yeading United in summer 2019.
FYI – Switters changed his name from O’Donnell by deed poll in July 2018. Just in case you were confused…
