Anthony Furlonge Player Profile
Debut: No debut
Stevenage manager Gary Smith moved to secure the services of young defender Anthony Furlonge in April 2012, with the defender signing professional terms with the Hertfordshire club having previously been on a youth deal at League Two side Southend United.
Furlonge emerged through the ranks at Millwall and Arsenal before moving onto Roots Hall, where he featured in the Shrimpers reserve team and also spent some time at non-league Thurrock. It had also been reported that the player was being eyed up by Premier League side Fulham, although no move came about.
A natural right-back, although equally at home in the centre of defence, Furlonge had been offered a professional deal by Southend United. However, it was withdrawn by the Essex club and it was Stevenage who were to benefit from that decision.
