A “resilient attitude and approach” is what earned young centre forward Theo Alexandrou his first professional deal in May 2023. The announcement came at the end of the 2022-3 campaign; one in which we’d won a spot up in League One by virtue of finishing in the top three of League Two. Alexandrou’s signature was a nod to the future and the club’s decision was certainly on merit. He had been our top goalscorer in the EFL Youth Alliance League.
It would get even better for the lad in the early stages of the 2023-4 campaign. As Boro’ grappled with a mini-injury crisis, boss Steve Evans turned to Alexandrou; handing the young forward his maiden first team start for our Carabao Cup Round Two fixture at Exeter City. Later on that same season, the player received a chance to establish himself as a senior player on loan at Cheshunt. And what better way to mark the move than by scoring on his Ambers’ debut!
Theo Alexandrou: After Boro’
Unfortunately, Alexandrou’s time at the Lamex would come to an end in summer 2024 after the club opted not to offer him a new contract. He moved to St Ives Town – a club at which he spent some time on loan – after leaving the Lamex.
