Biography

A summer signing in 2004, Dannie Bulman made himself a fans’ favourite with two seasons of consistently good and committed performances in the centre of midfield. Week-in, week-out, he performed to a high standard. As a result, it was no surprise that both the Supporters’ Association and the readers of BoroGuide both selected him as the player of the season for 2004-5.

Bulman’s goal tally didn’t quite reflect the influence that he had, however; scoring just three times in almost a ton of starts. That said, nothing can detract from the determination that he showed – and it didn’t go unnoticed. The midfielder, who even played in goal for us in one instance, was a popular player at Broadhall Way. But the time came to move on in 2006 after the arrival of Mark Stimson as boss; first heading to Crawley Town on loan, before making the move permanent.

Dannie Bulman: After Boro’

Bulman ended up going on to play for Crawley in three separate spells; the third of which starting in 2017 after three years with AFC Wimbledon making him the oldest player in the Football League – the midfielder turning 41 during the 2019-20 campaign.
