Stevenage Seasons 2012-3

Gary Smith, Mark Roberts (CT), Graham Westley

FL1 = npower League One
FAC = FA Cup
COC = Capital One Cup
JPT = Johnstone's Paint Trophy

After going so close in the playoffs the previous season, hopes were high that Stevenage would be able to continue that run in 2012-3. And, for a while, it looked as if things were going well - Boro' trailed closely behind pacesetters Tranmere Rovers well into the autumn. But then it all seemed to fall apart as Gary Smith's side tumbled down the table at an alarming rate.

It was to cost Smith his job before he'd even been given a full season at the club, but such were the concerns about Boro's survival prospects. It paved the way for Graham Westley (recently fresh from his duties at Preston) to return for a third spell as Boro' aimed to reverse their fortunes. There was little cup progress to speak of either, with only one win (League Cup R1).
