Brian Wright is a player who featured in the Boro’ defence for a brief time during the early stages of the 1988-9 campaign. He’d only turn out for us eight times in the end, however; his Boro’ data including a solitary goal. And how important that goal proved to be too. It helped us to secure a tight 3-2 win against Burnham in the FA Cup. Mind you, we ended up being kicked out of the cup due to an admin error and that decisive goal ended up being completely futile. Oh well. You still have to score ’em, and that’s what Brian Wright did.
